I am a firm believer that we’re all in this together, so who am I to judge? But sometimes I feel the need to stand up for the dogs and cats that we love, especially when their owners don’t. I feel it’s my role as a dog owner to try to make everything better for my pets, but sometimes I feel like their owners’ don’t see them the way I do.
The issue is that there are so many wonderful animal shelters all across the country. Most of them are open until the wee hours of the morning. But there are many that only open during working hours, and some that only open at night.
I’m not saying there aren’t shelters that are open at night, but I do believe that a lot of them are open during the night. I myself have had to leave my pets alone at night because the shelter was closed.
I think the issue is the shelter is not open at night because these shelters are meant to shelter pets. They have to be there to provide food for the animal and prevent the animals from getting sick. But I feel that many shelters are open during the day because they are trying to shelter pets from the cold.
