This week, I’m using the Netflix research to put some things in perspective. I was watching “The Office” with my girls and the scene where the main character, Dwight, is on his way to the train station and his roommate asks him to come along. I’m sure there are many other examples of this in sitcoms and movies. In any case, I wanted to share a few observations from it.
In the beginning of the last episode, I was looking at the trailers for the new movies. My friend, who grew up listening to The Office, was surprised to see how similar those movies were to what I was watching. One of the trailers told us that Dwight had to be on the train at 2:30am. Not only was he being on the train, but he had to be on the train.
After the trailer came out, I had to sorta switch gears. The trailers were so different that it was hard to distinguish them and the reason I decided to go with the old ones. I think the trailers were a bit of a joke. In fact, they were a bit of a joke, but it’s fair to say they were pretty hilarious.
Netflix is the original. It has the same streaming rights as HBO, which means it can do the same thing, but the difference is that its content will only be available for a limited time. After Netflix releases Season 2 of House of Cards, it won’t be able to continue to release the rest of the seasons like HBO can. So while I did enjoy the trailer, I think Netflix is the way to go.
There is a lot of hype about Netflix being the savior. But I think it is more like the first step toward the next step in their long-term plans. The idea of creating a streaming service that doesn’t rely on copyright infringement seems like a great idea, but unfortunately it is a bit like having a big box store and a small home-improvement store, and having them exist in the same neighborhood.
Netflix’s streaming service will work like a lot of the other services that exist: Netflix will be a distributor of content. In that sense you don’t need to worry about any copyright issues because you can stream the entire library for free. But the company will also be a lot more than that though. Netflix is planning on creating a streaming service that will be as unique as its content, and this is where the similarities to HBO end.
Netflix is going to be the place where all the best TV shows, comedy, documentaries, and movies can be seen and watched. It will also be the place where you can find shows and movies that you wont know whether you want to watch or not. It will be a place where you can use a streaming service like this to discover new shows you never knew existed.
Netflix is just one of those services which, while I feel like it’s really good, I’m yet to try it out. I’ve yet to try the Netflix app for Android or the Netflix app for iOS. However, I’ve been using Netflix for a long time and I’ve never tried using it for streaming content.
