I don’t know really, but I’d say that the research was that they are the least self-aware creatures that have ever existed. Just look at the way they can sit there paralyzed for hours at a time. It’s as if they just don’t have the mental capacity for self-awareness. It’s like the animals are literally brain-dead.

Sure, they have all the physical features of a penguin, but they are still a penguin. And just like all the other animals on the planet, penguins have their own language, their own culture, their own ethics, and so on. So when they come to your attention, they have to learn some of that culture and learn to interact with you.
The main difference is that even though they are looking at you, they dont know what their personality is. Some people have a personality, some personality, some personality, and some personality. Not everyone has a personality, and so they have to look into their personality to learn to interact with them. That is why they have to do more research to find out what they are really like.
