When you’re a homeowner, you want to get rid of all your old stuff. You want to make your home a little healthier. You want to be more sensitive to your environment. You want to get rid of the old things that can make you feel like a part of your life forever. We have some great tips all summer long on what you should do to make your home a healthier place for you and your family.
Of course, part of the goal of getting rid of your old stuff is to make your home a place you enjoy spending time in and where you can easily get away to do things you enjoy. In this study we took over 200 families and had them sit in a room with the doors open and a lot of noise. We played games, read them a book, talked to them, and then we asked the families to leave the room and come back in a couple of minutes later.
We found that the families that took the time to leave the room were significantly more likely to get healthy habits and behaviors like getting a great night’s sleep, getting exercise, and eating healthy food. The research also found that families who left the room a lot of time later were more likely to have children that aren’t overweight.
